-Computerbank
& Planet Four Year 2000 Results
-New Projects
As we have
now entered the last month of spring, leading to a "long
hot summer" of public tenders, assignments and project completions
in the gigantic, for Greek standards, program of renovation and
upgrade of the Public Administration's telecommunications infrastructure,
we wish to update you on some of our Group's news.
Our company
Computerbank Networking SA had a record year last year (2000)
with sales increasing by 60% to nearly Drs. 2.4 billion (c. $6.3
million) while profits jumped by 234% reaching Drs. 314 million
(c. $825,000). On the other hand, our sister company Planet Four
Networking SA improved its sales by 90%, reaching Drs. 660 million
($ 1.7 million) with a 98% improvement of profits, which reached
Drs. 26 million (c. $68,000).
One more fact
we feel proud about is that during year 2000 we installed the
data/voice/video infrastructure for 45,600 workstations at Public
Administration departments, Public Utilities organisations and
large private firms.
Year 2001
promises to be even more successful. As chairman and CEO Mr. Costas
Vourdakis pointed out, "we now see the results of our correct
company structure, our careful selection and training of people,
our Group's insistence on quality throughout our operations and
our immediate response to customers' needs".
Among other
recent projects we have undertaken, we can indicatively mention
the following few:
- The structured
cabling voice/data/video infrastructure at the "Eurocourier"
building (http://www.cbnetworks.gr/en/nea/120201.htm),
- The supply
(in spite of world shortage) of a very substantial quantity of
optical fibre for the IT & Telecommunications needs of the
pipeline that will carry fuel from the refineries to the New Athens
Airport at Spata. (http://www.cbnetworks.gr/en/nea/150201.htm),
- The installation
of the voice/data/video networking infrastructure at the Municipality
of Nea Philadelphia (http://www.cbnetworks.gr/en/nea/050301.htm),
- The installation
(in a record 5-days time) of the voice/data/video networking infrastructure
in one of the cargo forwarding buildings of the new Athens airport
at Spata (http://www.cbnetworks.gr/en/nea/160301.htm),
- The installation
of the voice/data/video networking infrastructure at the Training
Centre of the Technical Chambers of Greece (http://www.cbnetworks.gr/en/nea/100401.htm),
etc.
Further details
can be found at our web site (http://www.cbnetworks.gr).
In total, within the (traditionally low…) 1st Quarter of year
2001, we have installed the voice/data/video networking infrastructure
of c. 10.000 workstations - a fact which forecasts that year 2001
will be another record-breaking year.
We shall not
take up more of your time to day. Please allow us to come back
with more news in the near future.
Thank you
for your attention.
