Progress
of the Hospitals Project
We wish to
keep you informed about the progress of the large project we have
on hand - that of installing the IT & Telecommunications infrastructure
at the 24 largest State Hospitals around the country. The project
is one of the largest so far in Greece, interconnecting more than
8000 workstations.
As you know,
this project was initiated early March 2000. It was planned to
follow three stages: the design stage, the installation stage,
and the stage of transition and good working condition.
We are pleased
to report, that the project progresses at a fast pace. The structured
cabling infrastructure has already been installed, using Molex
Premise Networks products, in most of the Hospitals, while in
some other, it will be finalised before the end of November. The
active networking equipment (made by CABLETRON Systems) has also
been installed in many of them, and these Hospitals are already
in transition stage.
Within November,
installation of structured cabling will start in the remaining
Hospitals, while it will be delayed in some, that had to be re-designed
due to specific circumstances (e.g., building repairs or re-construction
due to damage by earthquake, etc.)
Allow us to
stop here to day, not wishing to take more of your time. We shall
return at a later opportunity, to give you information about new
projects we have been awarded, and news of our Agencies.
