To install the IT & Telecom networking infrastructure
in 24 large Hospitals

Our group has already started implementing one of the largest networking projects initiated so far in Greece: the supply and installation of IT and Telecommunications networking infrastructure in 24 large hospitals around the Country. This project is part of the program "Development of an IT Health System" of the Ministry of Health & Welfare.

The hospitals in which networking substructure will be installed are:

Computerbank Networking designed the solution which was submitted to the relevant public tender by two System Integrators firms, ACE SA and UNISYS SA. Other participants to the tender were the companies INTRACOM, BULL, SPACE, SYSWARE and EUROPEAN DYNAMICS. The Ministry of Health, owner of the project, awarded the contract to ACE, who selected our Company as subcontractor.

The project foresees installation of active and passive networking LAN, WAN and Campus equipment for 8000 workstations. UTP Cat 5 will be used for internal cabling, while 8-core optical fibre will interconnect campus buildings. MOLEX Premise Networks (http://www.molexpn.com/) structured cabling material will be used throughout the project. The active equipment will comprise of SmartSwitch 6000 backbone switches, SmartStack LAN switches and hubs and RouteAbout WAN routers from CABLETRON Systems (http://www.cabletron.com/). Network Management will be accomplished with CABLETRON Systems' NMS Spectrum Element Manager. The project is due to be finalised and delivered to its users within 12 months.
